About us

History
Figment Theatre was established in 1995. It was set up by our Artistic Director Michael Addison (MA) and began by developing theatre in education projects for schools on Literacy, the Environment and Drugs.

Michael Addison has trained with Augusto Boal and since 1999 Figment has created Forum Theatre projects in partnership with businesses and Local Education Authorities on issues including Harassment, Truancy, Discrimination and Substance Misuse.

A two year Community Drama Programme in 2001 expanded Figment's reach to local older people in Kirklees aimed at addressing Distraction Burglary on behalf of Victim Support. Figment is continually refining its unique technique of merging performance with workshop activity and has established a long track record of delivering consistently effective education programmes that have a lasting legacy. Plans are to expand our work in the Community, Heath and Business Training sectors throughout 2005 - 2007.
